Timber Fabrication / Trades Assistant – Griffith NSW

We are seeking a motivated and adaptable individual to join our production team as a Timber Fabrication / Trades Assistant. This is a hands-on role within our fabrication facility, supporting the manufacture and preparation of specialised processing equipment.

The position suits someone who enjoys practical work, can confidently use a range of tools and machinery, and is eager to learn new skills while supporting skilled trades such as welders and fitters. You will need to be a quick learner, able to follow instructions accurately, and committed to maintaining high safety standards in the workplace.

Reporting to the Production Manager, the role involves a variety of tasks across our production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist skilled tradespeople (mechanical, electrical, welders) with fabrication tasks and projects
  • Lead and oversee the fabrication of timber boxes and crates used for transporting processing equipment and spare parts, in accordance with export requirements
  • Lead and oversee pressure vessel testing to ensure structural integrity and compliance
  • Prepare and maintain work areas, tools and equipment
  • Assist with packing machinery and spare parts for shipment
  • Support production activities related to the assembly and set up of equipment and associated services
  • Follow workplace safety procedures and maintain a clean and organised environment
  • Learn trade-specific skills through on-the-job training
  • Assist with other production tasks as required

About You
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, fabrication or production environment
  • Experience with timber fabrication or carpentry-related work
  • Strong practical skills and confidence using a variety of tools and machinery
  • Sound numeracy / maths skills
  • Physical fitness and the ability to lift and carry up to 15 kg
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Current driver’s license
  • A current forklift licence (highly desirable, but not essential)
  • Truck License (highly desirable, but not essential)

Field Service Engineer – Wageningen, The Netherlands

In 2022, Flavourtech expanded its global footprint by opening offices and pilot plant facilities at Wageningen University & Research, located in the heart of the Netherlands’ renowned FoodValley—an international hub for food innovation.

Due to Flavourtech’s continued growth in Europe, we are seeking a full-time Field Service Engineer to join our European team.

The Service Engineer will provide hands-on service and technical expertise across the Flavourtech product range, as well as associated third-party equipment. This role involves significant international travel and close collaboration with customers across Europe and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite customer service, including maintenance, commissioning, and installation of process equipment
  • Perform fault finding and technical problem-solving on mechanical and process systems
  • Provide maintenance and trial support for customers using the European Pilot Plant facility
  • Support customers to ensure optimal performance and reliability of installed equipment
  • Work safely and in compliance with all WHS and site safety requirements
  • Liaise effectively with customers, internal engineering teams, and global colleagues

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Strong commitment to safe working practices
  • Proven experience as a Service Technician or Service Engineer working with process equipment, including: Rotating machinery, Pumps, Heat exchangers, Valves and instrumentation
  • Mechanical Engineering trade qualification
  • Customer-focused approach with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Physically fit, with the ability to lift and carry items exceeding 15 kg
  • Hold unrestricted work rights in the Netherlands
  • Valid and current passport with availability for international travel
  • Valid Dutch driver’s licence

Desirable (but Not Essential)

  • Basic electrical knowledge
  • Forklift licence
  • VCA Certificate
  • Experience working in food, beverage, dairy, or pharmaceutical environments
  • English fluency and experience working with diverse cultures and nationalities

  • Full-time employment with an initial one-year fixed-term contract, with review to permanent employment
  • Payments, terms, and conditions in accordance with the Metaalbewerkingsbedrijf CAO
  • Access to a discretionary bonus scheme of up to 10% of base salary
  • 25 vacation days plus 13 ADV days to support work–life balance
  • 8% holiday allowance
